Configuring Robotic Process Automation

When you use Robotic Process Automation (RPA), you configure your case type to use automations that process work without manual intervention.

Before you begin, ensure that you have an automation configured in Pega Robotics Automation Studio. See Automation configuration.

  1. Open the case type for which you want to run an automation.

  2. Ensure that the fields that contain the information that you want to pass between your case type and the automation are marked as relevant records.

    Fields that you add in Case Designer or Data Designer are automatically marked as relevant records. You can also add other fields as relevant records in the Relevant Records landing page. For more information, see Adding relevant records.

  3. Register robotic automation virtual machines (VMs) with the Pega 7 Platform. A successful registration allows your Pega 7 application to monitor, track, and report on automation activity. See Configuring your environment to register robotic virtual machines
